2. Spring Constants: Two Ways.

5. Oscillator Lab with Multiple Springs. Posted by Brendan Crowley.
This lab deals with a cart attached to two fixed springs and it oscillates back and forth. They find an "effective spring constant" through plotting data and then, hopefully, derive the effective spring constant through a force diagram to get (-k1x-k2x)=md^2x/dt^2.

7. SHM Kinematics Vertical Mass on a spring kinematics lab. Data is collected from a oscillating mass on a spring hanging from a force probe over a motion sensor. Based on the Force and Motion labs created at Tufts in the 1980s. I used to do this lab with Apple IIs. Now it is Data Studio.

10. SHM Example Problem Powerpoint Slides I used these to create screencasts that I post on Youtube for my students. They are meant for students that miss class or want to see additional examples. Some are follow-up examples to labs and demos done in class. You could use them to show in class or to create your own screencasts with your own voice for your students to hear.
